Without network, still all Active sync options can be used, like installing or removing software, opening the mobile registry etc. Big advantage to connect like this instead of turning off the RNDIS module and connect through 'normal' USB, is that my PC will now recodnize and automaticaly change from my private phone to my work phone (WM6.0 and WM6.1) Network capability of my phone is achieved by having the right ip address in the 'external NDIS module' (networkcards). Turning these services on created the 'advanced network connection' to work. Through my local PC it needed to connect to the network DHCP server.ĬE seems to do this through XP's DHCP client services.
